About this site
Xiaoyaosan.com is an independent educational reference about one thing: Xiao Yao San, the classical Chinese herbal formula, in its traditional context and in modern research.
Editorial approach
The site keeps two kinds of claims deliberately separate. Traditional statements — what the formula is for in Chinese medicine's own terms, the roles of its herbs, its history — are presented as tradition, drawn from the classical literature and standard references such as the Taiping Huimin Heji Ju Fang and Bensky's Formulas & Strategies. Research statements — what trials and meta-analyses show — are cited to the specific studies, with their quality and limitations stated plainly. Where the evidence is weak, the page says so.
Citation policy
Every research citation on this site has been verified against the original source (PubMed, PubMed Central, or the publishing journal) before publication. Reference lists appear at the bottom of each page, linked to the sources. If you find an error, tell us — corrections are made promptly.
What this site is not
It is not medical advice, and it does not sell anything. Nothing here substitutes for a qualified clinician — see the note in the footer of every page, and the safety page for specific cautions.
